Acupuncture is a system of medicine that has been practised for over 4,000 years.
Fine needles are inserted into specific points on the body to stimulate the body's own healing process to restore and maintain physical health.
The foundations of acupuncture recognise that we are not just a physical body therefore emotional and non-physical issues may result in a physical disorder.
My role as a practitioner is to identify the individuals imbalance and assist in the restoration of their health.
What to expect
Your initial visit includes a full consultation and your first acupuncture treatment. We will produce a tailor made treatment plan to meet your specific individual requirements. Treatments are given weekly at first and then less frequently as you improve. The rate of improvement varies according to the individual rather than that of the condition.
Treatments are given weekly at first and then less frequently as you improve. The procedure is painless. Tiny, hair thin needles are placed on the body to balance your natural energy. Depending on your treatment, the needles are left on the body from as few as 10 seconds to 30 minutes.
Additional therapy techniques may be used in conjunction with the acupuncture depending on the individual treatment and perceived benefits.
All registered acupuncturists are bound by their Code of Practise which dictates stringent standards of hygiene, including the use of disposable needles.
Full confidentiality is assured. It is always recommended that you advise your GP if you are receiving acupuncture.
